Onde-Onde Green Beans

Onde-onde is a kind of popular snack cake market in Indonesia. This cake is very famous in the area of Mojokerto called as onde-onde city since the time of Majapahit. Onde-onde can be found in traditional markets or sold in street vendors. Onde-onde is also popular especially in Chinatown area both in Indonesia and abroad.


Onde-onde made from wheat flour or glutinous starch or boiled and the surface is sprinkled / coated with sesame seeds. There are various variations, the best known is onde-onde made of glutinous flour and inside it is filled with green bean paste. Other variations are made only from wheat flour and colored on the surface such as white, red, or green, known as wheat onde, which is a typical onde-onde of the city of Mojokerto.
ONDE-ONDE GREEN BEANS


ONDE-ONDE SKIN:
250 gr glutinous flour
25 gr sago flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
15 grams of sugar
1 egg
175 ml of warm water
100 gr white sesame
Water for dyeing
Cooking oil




MATERIAL CONTENTS :
100 grams of green beans, peeled, soak for 2 hours
75 gr sugar
1 pandan leaves
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 tsp vanilla
50 ml coconut milk

HOW TO MAKE :
For Fill Ingredients: Steamed green beans until cooked and tender, remove, mash while hot. Cook green beans with granulated sugar, pandan leaves, salt, vanilla, and coconut milk over low heat, stirring until clotted. Lift and chill. Round-shaped form of marbles.
For Onde-onde Skin: Mix glutinous flour, sago flour, salt, vanilla, and granulated sugar, stir, add eggs, mix well. Pour warm water little by little while diuleni until smooth and can be scavenged. Set aside.
Take 1 teaspoon of dough, flatten, put the contents that have been rounded into the skin dough, pressed until the green beans covered and rounded.
Dip for a while in water, then roll in sesame.

Fried onde-onde with low heat until dry and browned. Lift and drain.
