Cheese Kastengels Recipe Special


Kaasstengels (Dutch kaas, cheese, stengel, stem) are pastries made from flour dough, egg, margarine, and grated cheese. This cake is rectangular, about 3-4 cm long and 1 cm wide, and baked in an oven to golden yellow.

The type of cheese used depends on the recipes and tastes of the people who make it, it can be Gouda cheese, Edam, or cheddar cheese. Parmesan cheese is also often used to make the cake more fragrant.
